A few years ago, when Flint on 2^nd Avenue opened, some friends of mine started a DJ night on Wednesdays.  It was called Wednesday is the New Friday and it enjoyed great success, bringing people down to hear all kinds of music, have some drinks, and make mid-week merriment.

Fast forward a few years --- the DJ night is every first Wednesday of the month now, but they’ve got a fresh angle they're kicking off on June 6^th --- Sunglasses After Dark.  This is some high concept shit.

Because the organizers are super music nerds, it stands to reason that they attract a crowd of people who dig deep into music to find the good stuff.  So each week, they’re inviting a new guest to come down with records from their own personal collections to spin for the crowd.  This isn’t about being a turntable terror-wrist --- it’s just about sharing good music with those who love good music.

And in a shocking display of shameless self-promotion, I’ll let you know right now, that the first guest --- is me!  I’m going to steal some milk crates from a dirty alley somewhere and cart a bunch of my own vinyl down there.  Oh, and I forgot to mention --- the DJ has to wear their sunglasses after dark, which is right up my alley, because I hate taking my shades off for anything.  Corey Hart wrote Sunglasses at Night for me.  I invite you all to come down, and bring shades of your own if you want.  Let’s have a crazy party where we bump into walls in the dark.

And each month after that, there’ll be a new music lovin’, record havin’ guest.  Sunglasses After Dark --- every first Wednesday of the month at Flint, starting this week!
